Appleton is the sixth most populous city in Wisconsin and the county seat of Outagamie County. Located within walking distance of downtown Oshkosh is the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, the third largest university in the state. OshKosh B'gosh, a children’s clothing company and current subsidiary of Carter’s, was founded in the city in 1895. When it comes to recreation, Lake Winnebago provides the perfect opportunity for activities such as boating, swimming, fishing, and sturgeon spearing.
